NATURAL STONE AND GROUT CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

The first, and most important step in preserving your grout or natural stone is to seal it right the first time. After that, the following maintenance instructions will continue to preserve the beauty of your stone floors and counters: Dust mop or vacuum often to keep the floor free from loose dirt.

Damp mop as often as necessary based on usage and traffic. Change mop water often to keep clean and fresh. Use neutral ph cleaner to protect the stone and the seal. Blot spills with clean towels – do not wipe spill. Use mats or rugs at every exterior door to wipe feet.

Acidic spills may etch many natural stones but it takes a professional to remove etch marks. If you’re not sure what to do, you can always call a professional. Feel free to call us with any of your maintenance questions.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

Tile & Grout Surfaces
GSR grout sealer makes your sanded grout joint easier to clean.
GSR does recommend to have your tile and grout surfaced cleaned about every 2 to 3 years.

Natural Stone Surfaces
All stones are different but they all need some sort of maintenance.

Marble, Limestone, Travertines and other high calcium based stones need routine maintenance. Some times all it will take is natural polishing of your stone surface. when there etching, scratching and staining more is needed to remove these problems Diamond abrasives and poultice.

It is all ways a good idea to have your stone surface deep cleaned about every 2 to 3 years. Commercial areas are recommended to have this done every 1 to 2 years.

It is cheaper to maintain a stone surface than neglect it and have the hole surface restored.
